Two wheels and 50mph winds

With hurricane Irene set to touch down as a cat 1 hurricane, which is a once in a life time thing for new yorkers, the natural born instinct to venture out into the storm comes out. My bicycle is geared up and preped for a 50mile trek through brooklyn into manhattan and across the George Washington bridge into the palisades in New Jersey. Expected touch off is about 4-5pm.

Zone A Mandatory evacuation? Sorry, it isn't happening. I will be on foot to explore all zone A areas.

GOPRO HD with 16gigs of video space
Specialized Hardrock with full knobbies for trekking through central park.

Scorpion XDR Waterproof liner
Padded biking shorts with goretex pants.
Safety glasses
Cold Steel Recon 1
DMT folding sharpening stone

and expecting to be VERY wet.
